OUR Recordings

After 30 years, and with more than 70 releases on the international recording companies Philips/Polygram, RCA/BMG and EMI the Danish classical artists, recorder player Michala Petri and guitarist/lute player Lars Hannibal have decided to make their own recording company OUR Recordings.
As the name indicates, many of the the releases will be recordings where either Michala Petri or Lars Hannibal or both are involved. We consider OUR Recordings to be an Artist Label,- and we collaborate with a wide range of Danish and International top artist. The idea is to have the full artistic and creative freedom and responsibility to record what we feel is necessary in our constant aim for new challenges.
OUR Recordings products will be released worldwide through an international distribution agreement with NAXOS.

Album Teaser: J.S.Bach - SIX SUITES FOR CELLO SOLO with Danish cello virtuoso Henrik Dam Thomsen
The Danish cello virtuoso Henrik Dam Thomsen, who is the solo cellist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, has completed a very strong and personal recording of J.S. Bach's iconic Six Suites for Cello solo. The recording was made in Copenhagen at Garnisons Kirke's fantastic acoustics, with Mikkel Nymand as producer/technician, and recorded in the DXD format (352.8kHz/24bit) and will be available on streaming services as Dolby Atmos. This double album will be released worldwide on August 23rd.

I had the extreme pleasure of seeing her in concert in Los Angeles. One of the pieces she played was Handel’s Sonata in F Major. This was the first serious piece I had I earned when studying recorder and it was great to hear it performed so perfectly. Hearing her okay it improved my own playing, and in my senior year of college played recorder and krumhorn in the Early Music Ensemble. Michaela, thank you for a great concert, and more importantly your inspiration. ❤️

As a big fan of both artists, this would not have been funny unless he made her laugh. He had to really work up a sweat to make such a virtuoso crack ... But who on earth could resist this man's genius?? Every time she laughs, her humanity shines through for us mortals.

I admire the recorder playing of Michala Petri. She is the best! It sends shivers down my spine. I have three daughters who achieved Grade 8 and beyond on the recorder not in small part due to Michala Petri's inspiration. We saw her playing in Canterbury. It was woderful!
